Great For Stress and the Spine

Cat Cow Pose

Actually two separate poses that are frequently paired together:

  • · Marjaryasana (Cat Pose)
  • · Bitilasana (Cow Pose)

Therapeutic Applications: Relieves stress

Benefits: A gentle massage to the stomach organs and the spine

  • Start on all fours in a neutral position
  • Fingers spread wide apart
  • Knees are directly below your hips with your wrists and shoulders all in line eyes looking at the floor.
  • As you inhale, lift your sitting bones and chest toward the ceiling, allowing your navel to drop to the earth lifting your head to the sky
  • Exhale round your spine chin to chest, (never force chin).
  • After a few rounds gently push into Childs Pose.
  • Your inhales and your exhales will guide you

Namaste
